Wisenet 5 SoC Awarded ‘Grand Prize’ from KOHSIA

During the Korea High-tech Safety Industry Product and Technology Awards 2017 held on November 28, Hanwha Techwin awarded the Grand Prize by the Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) in recognition of its excellence of Wisenet 5 SoC (System on Chip). The awards were hosted by Korea High-tech Safety Industry Association (KOHSIA) and sponsored by 15 government agencies and organizations including Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS), and Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA).
Starting from 2015, the awards have been giving recognition to outstanding products and technologies that contributed to building a safer society through continuous development of safe cutting-edge technology. Various Korean companies in the safety and security industry such as CCTV, sensor, and security companies participated in this event.
The Grand Prize was given to Hanwha Techwin’s Wisenet 5 SoC, the latest SoC developed by Hanwha Techwin in 2016. Capable of significantly faster image processing and featuring many upgrades, the Wisenet 5 SoC has set the new standards for the industry. The Wisenet 5 SoC was first introduced with the Wisenet X series, which launched across the globe in January this year. The Wisenet X series offers image stabilization using 150 dB WDR and gyro sensors, together with razor sharp images 24 hours a day with extreme low-light performance. Using WiseStream Ⅱ, Hanwha Techwin’s unique compression technology, the Wisenet X series provides the most bandwidth-friendly camera range.
A member of Hanwha Techwin said that “As a leader in the security industry in domestic and global, we always strives to contribute to the safety of the people and the security of the Nation. We feel very grateful for being recognized for this by receiving this award,” and said “We will not be satisfied with the position where we are standing at now but continue to reinforce our core technology development for optical and SoC and invest in advanced technology. Moreover, we will keep strengthening our technological cooperation with other competitive companies in the industry regardless of its size for mutual benefits and healthy industrial growth.”
