Hanwha Techwin Promotes Security as Major Business via SECON 2016

Hanwha Techwin recently took part in the International Security Exhibition and Conference 2016 (SECON 2016), the largest SECON to date, which was held from March 16 to 18 in KINTEX, Ilsan, Korea to introduce its various new products and solutions.

The company plans to promote security as their major business, and aims to go beyond being the leader in the domestic security market and take a new leap forward in their effort to dominate the global market. At the exhibition, Hanwha Techwin introduced a number of its new products, unique solutions and key technologies, and plans to fully engage in future overseas exhibitions as part of an ongoing marketing strategy.

The products in its booth that received the most attention were cameras in the 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) line-up; here, 4K UHD refers to the next high- definition video quality standard for the 4K pixel, which is four times the previous full HD (1080p). The size of a video file is reduced by almost half compared to the previous one by the H.265 compression and the WiseStream technology. The excellent compression enables more efficient hard disk use when recording videos.

WiseStream is Hanwha Techwin’s independently developed technology to efficiently transmit videos via the network. It also makes effective use of the storage capacity by reducing the video bandwidth.

The Analog HD camera series, one of the company’s new products, has also received favorable comments from the industry. As a product that can safely transmit full HD videos through coaxial cable in analog systems, its biggest advantage is that it enables users of the previous analog system to experience megapixel resolution with using existing infra.

As well, Hanwha Techwin has promoted Systemon Chip (SoC) and optical∙lens technology in a key technology zone. SoC and optical∙lens are the core technology that determine the quality of video surveillance products, and as such their significance is growing by the day. As there are not many security companies that develop both and lens, Hanwha Techwin with more than 20 years of experience in the SoC and optical technology, has great competitiveness in the global market.

The company has also separately established a vertical zone to showcase the company’s advantages as a total security solution company, introducing security solutions (such as cameras, storage devices, monitors and alarm devices) that can be applied to various applications such as traffic, city, apartments, retail and home. Hanwha Techwin has demonstrated various intelligent technologies in the partner zone, such as the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), Cloud Service and Video Privacy Management (VPM). In particular, VPM has taken center stage, as it can prevent privacy invasions resulting from the leakage of videos, which has recently become a hot topic in the industry.

A spokesperson for Hanwha Techwin said that the company sees the exhibition as a stepping stone to becoming the front-runner in the international security market.
